Mathematics Tutoring

From Grade 8 basics to matric calculus — in Port Elizabeth and online across South Africa.

Why Students Struggle With Maths

Maths is cumulative — every concept builds on the last. If you missed something in Grade 9, it will come back to haunt you in Grade 12. Most students don't lack ability; they lack a solid foundation and the right explanations.

As a maths tutor in Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth), I work with students from Grade 8 right through to matric, both in person in Gqeberha and online across South Africa. My approach is to identify exactly where the gaps are, fill them in, and then move forward with confidence.

Whether you're aiming to pass or aiming for a distinction, I'll meet you where you are.

Common Questions About Maths Tutoring

What maths topics are most important for matric?

Calculus, functions, sequences and series, and trigonometry carry the most marks in both NSC and IEB matric exams. I make sure Grade 12 students are confident in all high-weight topics before their final exams.

Is in-person maths tutoring available in Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth)?

Yes — I offer face-to-face maths tutoring across greater Port Elizabeth / Gqeberha, including Summerstrand, Walmer, Mill Park, and surrounding suburbs. Online sessions via Google Meet are also available anywhere in South Africa.

How many sessions before I see improvement?

Most students notice a real difference within 4–6 weekly sessions. If your foundations are weak, we'll spend time filling gaps first — which pays off significantly in exam results.

Do you cover both CAPS and IEB mathematics?

Yes. I'm fully familiar with both curricula. NSC/CAPS students focus on past paper patterns and structured problem-solving; IEB students develop deeper conceptual understanding and application skills.
